Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you ("you" or "User") and The Maze Game ("we", "us", "themazegame.xyz"). By creating an account, accessing, downloading, or using the website, web app, desktop application, or any related service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Arbitration Agreement, and our AI Disclosure. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. AI-Generated Service Disclosure

You acknowledge and agree that the Service — including its code, art, copy, AI-driven non-player characters, and gameplay systems — was designed and produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence tooling provided by Lovable (lovable.dev). AI systems can produce errors, inaccuracies, unexpected behavior, hallucinated content, or bugs. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis with all faults. You use the Service at your own risk. See our full AI Disclosure.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK) to create an account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these Terms at our sole discretion.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) cheat, exploit, reverse-engineer, or use bots/automation that we have not authorized; (b) harass, threaten, dox, or defame other users; (c) post unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexual, or violent content in chat or in user-built structures; (d) interfere with the operation of the Service or attempt unauthorized access; (e) violate any applicable law. We may remove content and revoke access at any time.

4. MazeBux, Virtual Items, Cash-Outs & Subscriptions

"MazeBux" and other virtual items are a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use in-game features. They have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and are not refundable except where required by law. We may modify, suspend, or eliminate virtual items, contests, or prize pools at any time. Weekly contest prize allocations are paid in MazeBux only and may be adjusted, postponed, or canceled.

Cash-outs are at the platform's sole discretion. Where the Service offers, from time to time, the ability to redeem MazeBux or in-game balances for real-world value, gift cards, or third-party credits, every such redemption is discretionary, not guaranteed,and may be approved, delayed, partially fulfilled, denied, reversed, or revoked by us at any time, for any reason or no reason, including (without limitation) suspected fraud, chargebacks, multi-accounting, bot/automation use, exploits, chargeback risk, identity-verification (KYC) failures, sanctions screening, tax-reporting obligations, processor rejections, regulatory restrictions in your jurisdiction, account violations, or simple business judgment. We may impose minimum balances, holding periods, per-user and aggregate caps, identity-verification, and processing fees, and we may pause or permanently discontinue cash-outs entirely with no obligation to convert remaining balances to cash. Nothing in the Service creates a debt, deposit, stored-value account, e-money, money-services obligation, or any property right enforceable against us. You expressly waive any claim that MazeBux are owed to you in cash.

5. Payments — Processed by Third Parties

We do not process payments. All purchases (including the desktop app subscription and any MazeBux top-ups) are processed by independent third-party payment processors, including but not limited to Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). When you submit payment information, you submit it directly to the processor under their terms and privacy policy. We never see, store, or handle your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials. By making a purchase, you also agree to the applicable processor's terms (e.g. Stripe Services Agreement). Disputes about charges, refunds, fraud, chargebacks, taxes, and currency conversion are governed primarily by the processor. We disclaim all liability for the acts, omissions, downtime, or data handling of any third-party processor.

6. Subscriptions, Renewals & Refunds

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price until canceled through the processor's customer portal. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law (e.g., EU/UK statutory withdrawal rights), all sales are final and MazeBux already credited to your account are non-refundable.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of structures, chat messages, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, display, modify, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, art, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except as expressly set out here.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. AI-GENERATED OUTPUT MAY BE INACCURATE OR INAPPROPRIATE; YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVALUATING ANY RELIANCE ON IT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE MAZE GAME, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US (NOT THE PROCESSOR) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (b) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; THOSE LIMITATIONS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Maze Game and its affiliates from any claim, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Binding Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver

Please read carefully — this affects your legal rights. You and The Maze Game agree to resolve any dispute by binding individual arbitration and waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action. The full terms, opt-out instructions (30 days), and procedures are in our Arbitration Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, except that the Arbitration Agreement is governed by the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
